Aaliyah is facing non-Hodgkin lymphoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Aaliyah was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in March. The oncology team at Wollongong Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in June. She will be away from work for about 7 weeks. Aaliyah is 36, worked as a primary school teacher until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Wollongong Cancer Centre 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $10,800 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $8,250 • Transport to Wollongong Cancer Centre: $750 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,800 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
