A youth football pitch for Unity Park: help our neighbors in Nairobi
A community-led a youth football pitch at Unity Park that will serve 578 neighbors.
🇰🇪 Kenya1,238 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $600.
It will serve about 578 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $600 goes:
• Materials: $450
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Safety equipment and signage: $25
• Tools hire and delivery: $75
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Rooting for you. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'll check back for the next update. Love from Moscow
