Friendly visitor needed for a 76-year-old neighbor in Ottawa

Looking for a friendly person in Ottawa to visit Autumn once a week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Autumn, who's 76. Autumn lives alone in Ottawa, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives a long flight away. Autumn loves opera, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Tuesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Sending good thoughts, Taylor. I hope things turn around soon

        • So sorry you're going through this. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 27 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything

          • Take care, Taylor. Get well soon
