A youth football pitch for Jacaranda Park: help our neighbors in Kampala
A community-led a youth football pitch at Jacaranda Park that will serve 92 neighbors.
🇺🇬 Uganda500 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Park, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 92 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $400 goes:
• Materials: $270
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
• Tools hire and delivery: $65
Thank you so much.

Keep going, Kiprop. Great idea, hope you get there. Take care.
Best of luck, Kiprop. Hope this works out for you. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.
