A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Toronto
Volunteers in Toronto are raising $2,700 for a youth football pitch at Unity Park.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Park, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,700.
It will serve about 537 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,700 goes:
• Materials: $1,650
• Permits and inspections: $155
• Safety equipment and signage: $420
• Tools hire and delivery: $475
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Wishing you the best, Weston. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My neighbor in Envigado donated after I showed her your page. Love from Envigado.
