A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Reims
Volunteers in Reims are raising $2,450 for a youth football pitch at the old Liberty bus depot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Liberty bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,450.
It will serve about 457 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Materials: $1,700
• Permits and inspections: $250
• Safety equipment and signage: $340
• Tools hire and delivery: $160
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Valentin
Take care, Valentin. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I have a 15 year old who wants to send good wishes too. All the best
Thinking of you and your family. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Reims
sending love. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day
