A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Québec
A community-led a youth football pitch at Liberty Primary School that will serve 127 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $370, and the remaining cost is $2,250.
It will serve about 127 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• Materials: $1,450
• Permits and inspections: $400
• Safety equipment and signage: $230
• Tools hire and delivery: $170
