A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in Leicester
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a youth football pitch - we need $2,950 for materials.
🇬🇧 Leicester, England, United Kingdom2,625 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Maple bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,950.
It will serve about 292 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,950 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $430
• Materials: $2,400
• Permits and inspections: $120
Thanks for being kind about this.
