A youth football pitch: a volunteer-led effort in București

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Baobab bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $200. It will serve about 442 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $200 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $65 • Safety equipment and signage: $70 • Permits and inspections: $65 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Andrei
