A weekly visit for Perla, 73, who lives alone in Quezon City
An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that's all Perla is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Perla, who's 73. Perla lives alone in Quezon City, and lost a sister last year. The nearest family lives several hours away.
Perla loves old films, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Thursday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Good luck, Ismael. Wishing Perla a smooth procedure and a full recovery. I'm in teaching myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Greetings from Jakarta Selatan.
Hope it all works out. Shared it with a few friends. Thinking of Quezon City.
Sending strength. This could happen to any of us. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Greetings from Tallahassee
sending love. This could happen to any of us. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Love from Bacoor
you're not alone. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care
