A weekly visit for Nova, 73, who lives alone in Los Angeles

I'm writing for my neighbor Nova, who's 73. Nova lives alone in Los Angeles, and lost a sister last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country. Nova loves chess, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Thursday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
