A weekly visit for Lúcia, 81, who lives alone in Contagem
Lúcia lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Lúcia, who's 81. Lúcia lives alone in Contagem, and lost a son last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country.
Lúcia loves baking, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Saturday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Love from Alcalá de Henares.
