Build a wheelchair ramp for Funmilayo in Bonny
Funmilayo uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇳🇬 Rivers, Nigeria585 views
Funmilayo has used a wheelchair since 2021, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Funmilayo can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Funmilayo's family will cook lunch for the team.
I hope life is good to you.

Hope things get better soon, Kelechi. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Bonny.
Best of luck. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Blessings!
