A weekly visit for Leah, 77, who lives alone in Bakersfield
Looking for a friendly person in Bakersfield to visit Leah once a week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Leah, who's 77. Leah lives alone in Bakersfield, and lost a son last year. The nearest family lives several hours away.
Leah loves old films, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Wednesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Thank you so much.

Wishing Leah a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.

Get well soon. I have a 16 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Bakersfield.
