A weekly visit for Karim, 89, who lives alone in Jessore
Karim lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Karim, who's 89. Karim lives alone in Jessore, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country.
Karim loves birdwatching, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Saturday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

You're not alone. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Chicago
Thinking of you, Tanvir. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Love from Pittsburgh
Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. We're a small family in Haarlem but we're thinking of you. Love from Haarlem.
