A weekly visit for Gizem, 92, who lives alone in Istanbul
Gizem lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Gizem, who's 92. Gizem lives alone in Istanbul, and lost a sister last year. The nearest family lives 406 kilometers away.
Gizem loves local history, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Saturday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Thank you for reading my story.

Wishing you peace. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Love from Riverside.
So sorry you're going through this, Emine. Hope this works out for you. My neighbor in Zapopan donated after I showed her your page. God bless.
Wishing Gizem a smooth procedure and a full recovery. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Bengaluru.
Praying for you, Emine. I hope things turn around soon. I'll check back for the next update. God bless.
