A weekly visit for Fernando, 79, who lives alone in Uberlândia
Fernando lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Fernando, who's 79. Fernando lives alone in Uberlândia, and lost a spouse of many years last year. The nearest family lives on the other side of the country.
Fernando loves knitting, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Thursday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
Thank you for reading my story.

Hope things get better soon, Bruna. Wishing Fernando a smooth procedure and a full recovery. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Blessings

Thanks for sharing this. Hope you get there. I'm in social work myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
Take care, Bruna. Wishing Fernando a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Put this on a community board in Columbus this morning. Thinking of Uberlândia.
