A weekly visit for Elias, 76, who lives alone in Aberdeen

An hour a week, a chat, and a cup of tea - that's all Elias is asking for.

I'm writing for my neighbor Elias, who's 76. Elias lives alone in Aberdeen, and lost a lifelong friend last year. The nearest family lives 402 kilometers away. Elias loves birdwatching, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Friday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person. All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity. No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
