A weekly phone friend for Nikhil, recovering at home after a stroke
No advice needed - just a kind ear and some conversation for 30 minutes a week.

After a stroke, I have been mostly housebound for 8 weeks. My family live far away, and the days can feel very long. I'm not looking for therapy - I've that covered - but for conversation.
I'm hoping for someone who can call for about 30 minutes once a week whenever suits us both. I like film, travel stories and poetry, and can listen to anything.
This can be from anywhere in the world as long as you speak English. We can arrange the calls through the platform, with email shared only when we're both comfortable.
Thanks for even thinking about it.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

sending love. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Sent it to 26 people at work.
good luck, Nikhil. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Wish I lived closer to Chiang Mai so I could bring a meal
Sending good thoughts, Nikhil. Hope this works out for you. Blessings
Stay strong, Nikhil. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
Wishing you peace, Nikhil. Shared it with a few friends. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless.
Hope things get better soon. Your post was clear and honest. I went through something like this 10 years ago and strangers helped me out
So sorry you're going through this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care
