Viraj lives with a rare neuromuscular condition. The occupational therapist at Colombo General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,200. His current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 6 weeks. With the right equipment Viraj could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $1,200 goes: • stair-climbing aid: $1,100 • Fitting and training sessions: $35 • Delivery and set-up: $25 • First-year servicing plan: $40 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
