I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at Mumbai General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $600. My current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks. With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $600 goes: • Fitting and training sessions: $65 • stair-climbing aid: $530 • Delivery and set-up: $5 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Uma
