I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at the Laval Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,500. My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks. With the right equipment I could speak with the people around her. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $2,500 goes: • stair-climbing aid: $2,150 • Delivery and set-up: $150 • Fitting and training sessions: $200 I hope life is good to you.
