A stair-climbing aid for Palesa: help me move freely
A stair-climbing aid would give Palesa independence - we're $1,000 away.

I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at the Johannesburg Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,000.
My current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• stair-climbing aid: $900
• Delivery and set-up: $35
• Fitting and training sessions: $65
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
