I live with profound hearing loss. My occupational therapist at the London Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $7,300. My current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks. With the right equipment I could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $7,300 goes: • stair-climbing aid: $6,750 • Fitting and training sessions: $300 • Delivery and set-up: $80 • First-year servicing plan: $170 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
