A stair-climbing aid for Ashok: help Ashok move freely
A stair-climbing aid would give Ashok independence - we're $1,000 away.
🇮🇳 Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India545 views
Ashok lives with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. The occupational therapist at Aurangabad General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,000.
His current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment Ashok could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• stair-climbing aid: $910
• Fitting and training sessions: $50
• Delivery and set-up: $20
• First-year servicing plan: $20
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
