A specialist standing frame for Ishita: help me move freely
Ishita needs a specialist standing frame that the health system won't fund; the cost is $400.
🇮🇳 India1,303 views
I live with a spinal cord injury. My occupational therapist at the Dwarka Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $400.
My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment I could speak with the people around her. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $400 goes:
• specialist standing frame: $280
• Fitting and training sessions: $50
• Delivery and set-up: $30
• First-year servicing plan: $40
Thanks for being kind about this.

So sorry you're going through this, Ishita. Your post was clear and honest. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Blessings.
