A community-led a solar-powered water pump at the Union vacant lot that will serve 543 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,250.
It will serve about 543 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• Materials: $2,000
• Tools hire and delivery: $160
• Permits and inspections: $90
