A solar-powered water pump for the Union community hall: help our neighbors in San Francisco
A community-led a solar-powered water pump at the Union community hall that will serve 471 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $1,900.
It will serve about 471 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,900 goes:

• Permits and inspections: $210
• Safety equipment and signage: $380
• Tools hire and delivery: $360
