A solar-powered water pump for the old Baobab bus depot: help our neighbors in Aurangabad
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a solar-powered water pump - we need $450 for materials.
🇮🇳 Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India1,615 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Baobab bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 527 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $450 goes:
• Materials: $350
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Safety equipment and signage: $25
• Tools hire and delivery: $55
