A solar-powered water pump for the old Acacia bus depot: help our neighbors in Pokhara
Volunteers in Pokhara are raising $450 for a solar-powered water pump at the old Acacia bus depot.
🇳🇵 Nepal1,070 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Acacia bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 342 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $450 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $30
• Materials: $350
• Permits and inspections: $70
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
