A solar-powered water pump for the Jacaranda health centre yard: help our neighbors in Hamilton
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a solar-powered water pump - we need $3,000 for materials.
🇨🇦 Canada2,297 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $3,000.
It will serve about 471 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,000 goes:
• Materials: $2,300
• Permits and inspections: $290
• Safety equipment and signage: $220
• Tools hire and delivery: $190
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
