A solar-powered water pump for the Freedom community hall: help our neighbors in Lowell
A community-led a solar-powered water pump at the Freedom community hall that will serve 198 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $4,550.
It will serve about 198 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $4,550 goes:
• Materials: $3,500
• Permits and inspections: $290
• Safety equipment and signage: $510
• Tools hire and delivery: $250
