A solar-powered water pump for the Cedar vacant lot: help our neighbors in Södertälje

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $1,100. It will serve about 394 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,100 goes: • Permits and inspections: $150 • Tools hire and delivery: $440 • Safety equipment and signage: $510 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Sven
