A solar-powered water pump for the Cedar vacant lot: help our neighbors in Sydney
Volunteers in Sydney are raising $3,350 for a solar-powered water pump at the Cedar vacant lot.
🇦🇺 Australia954 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $3,350.
It will serve about 373 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,350 goes:
• Materials: $2,800
• Safety equipment and signage: $370
• Permits and inspections: $180
