Gaya

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 253 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $350 goes: • Materials: $280 • Permits and inspections: $45 • Tools hire and delivery: $25 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Divya

Updates from Divya

Thank you all. We're at 81% now ($282). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for permits and inspections is now scheduled. - Divya
Update from Gaya: I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. We're at 56% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($147 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
