Rome
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Jacaranda Park, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,400. It will serve about 216 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,400 goes: • Materials: $1,650 • Permits and inspections: $240 • Safety equipment and signage: $140 • Tools hire and delivery: $370 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Francesco
