A solar-powered water pump for Harmony Primary School: help our neighbors in Dublin
A community-led a solar-powered water pump at Harmony Primary School that will serve 454 neighbors.
🇮🇪 Ireland1,003 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $520, and the remaining cost is $3,100.
It will serve about 454 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,100 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $120
• Permits and inspections: $200
• Materials: $2,780

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Eoin.
Sure. The biggest one is safety equipment and signage, $120. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.
Wishing you the best, Eoin. Hope this works out for you. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
Keep going. More neighborhoods should do this. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry
is there anything that isn't money that would help Eoin?
hang in there, Eoin. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Gujranwala.
Wishing you the best, Eoin. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Blessings.
best of luck, Eoin. Hope you get there. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Blessings
