For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Freedom Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $250. It will serve about 255 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $250 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $155 • Safety equipment and signage: $65 • Permits and inspections: $30 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
