For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Cedar Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $140, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 177 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $450 goes: • Materials: $310 • Permits and inspections: $45 • Safety equipment and signage: $50 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
