For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 30 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 422 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $500 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $135 • Materials: $270 • Permits and inspections: $95 Thanks for being kind about this. - Gerardo
