A solar-powered water pump for Baobab Park: help our neighbors in Los Angeles
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a solar-powered water pump - we need $2,550 for materials.
Anywhere in the world2,072 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Baobab Park, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,550.
It will serve about 473 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Materials: $1,750
• Tools hire and delivery: $520
• Permits and inspections: $280
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Hope it all works out. Shared it with a few friends. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Blessings.
Sending good thoughts, Samuel. Hope this works out for you.
Thinking of you and your family, Samuel. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Rochester
Sending strength. Shared this with my family. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Take care
