A solar-powered water pump for Acacia Park: help our neighbors in Mumbai
A community-led a solar-powered water pump at Acacia Park that will serve 144 neighbors.
🇮🇳 India893 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Acacia Park, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 144 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $450
• Tools hire and delivery: $45
• Safety equipment and signage: $5
Thanks for being kind about this.
