A solar-powered water pump: a volunteer-led effort in Lahore
A community-led a solar-powered water pump at Cedar Park that will serve 151 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Cedar Park, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $200.
It will serve about 151 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $200 goes:
• Materials: $115
• Tools hire and delivery: $70
• Permits and inspections: $15
