A solar-powered water pump: a volunteer-led effort in Kano
Volunteers in Kano are raising $150 for a solar-powered water pump at Sycamore Park.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Sycamore Park, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $150.
It will serve about 519 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $150 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $35
• Tools hire and delivery: $65
• Safety equipment and signage: $50

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Nkechi.
The list at the bottom is the whole picture. permits and inspections is the biggest at $35. I'll keep the page updated.
