A solar-powered water pump: a volunteer-led effort in Gondar
Volunteers in Gondar are raising $200 for a solar-powered water pump at Harmony Park.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Park, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $200.
It will serve about 454 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $200 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Materials: $125
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Sending strength, Yared. Shared this with my family. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.
Keep going. Hope you get there. Thinking of Gondar.
Rooting for you, Yared. This could happen to any of us.
