A solar-powered water pump: a volunteer-led effort in Eindhoven
A community-led a solar-powered water pump at the Cedar community hall that will serve 229 neighbors.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $4,050.
It will serve about 229 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $4,050 goes:
• Materials: $3,250
• Permits and inspections: $220
• Safety equipment and signage: $380
• Tools hire and delivery: $200
