Ciudad de México
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Harmony Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $700. It will serve about 130 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $700 goes: • Materials: $430 • Permits and inspections: $90 • Safety equipment and signage: $50 • Tools hire and delivery: $130 Thanks for being kind about this. - Julieta
