A solar-powered water pump: a volunteer-led effort in Bronx
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a solar-powered water pump - we need $4,250 for materials.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $4,250.
It will serve about 598 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $4,250 goes:
• Materials: $3,350
• Permits and inspections: $300
• Safety equipment and signage: $390
• Tools hire and delivery: $210
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
