A skate park for Unity Primary School: help our neighbors in Laval
Volunteers in Laval are raising $2,700 for a skate park at Unity Primary School.
🇨🇦 Canada242 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,700.
It will serve about 517 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,700 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $390
• Materials: $2,100
• Permits and inspections: $210
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

So sorry you're going through this. Shared it with a few friends. I have a 12 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. God bless!
sending good thoughts, Declan. Looking forward to the next update. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
rooting for you, Declan. Great idea, hope you get there. God bless.
Hope things get better soon. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Surabaya.
