For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Acacia vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $3,550. It will serve about 105 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $3,550 goes: • Materials: $2,650 • Permits and inspections: $200 • Safety equipment and signage: $190 • Tools hire and delivery: $510 Thank you so much.
